During the trout season, Rainbow Pines Tourist Park offers you the chance to catch your very own Rainbow Trout or Brown Trout right from the shores of the Park on Lake Eucumbene.
Snowy Mountains Trout Festival
Every year Rainbow Pines plays a part in the annual Snowy Mountain Trout Festival. Having it's beginnings back in 1974, this great event is the oldest and largest inland angling competition in New South Wales.
The fishing competition runs from the 3rd of November through till the 9th of November. Prizes are awarded for the following categories:
Trolling, spinning, baitfishing, flyfishing and juniors for -
- Largest Rainbow Trout
- Largest Brown Trout
And a separate section for -
- Largest Atlantic Salmon - on any tackle
- Largest Brook Trout - on any tackle
Fishing and Guiding
For those looking to improve their skills, Rainbow Pines can arrange for private and group lessons with highly respected local fisherman, Col Sinclair of The Adaminaby Angler. Flyfishing, Baitfishing, Spinning and Trolling can all be yours to master.
Col also has a large range of specialised fishing tackle, lures and the necessary equipment to catch even the most elusive of trout. Col also posts a weekly fishing report on his Adaminaby Angler Web site.
You can choose to bring your own boat, hire one at Rainbow Pines or fish straight from the shores of Lake Eucumbene. If fishing is one of your favourite pastimes, come and while away some hours at Rainbow Pines and hopefully catch the Trout of your dreams.
